It’s an evening destined for laughter, as Duncan Little Theatre presents 9 to 5 The Musical, based off the 1980 hit movie. It opened last weekend, and there are two more performances set for Friday and Saturday, March 3-4, at the Simmons Center in Duncan.

The show is set in the late 1970s, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick.

This is Collin Andrulonis’ DLT directorial debut. His wife, Erin Clemons-Andrulonis is choreographer and DLT veteran Veronica Hodgson is vocal director.

Producers are Robin Arter, Teresa Blalock, Tana Calhoun, Jason Ebenhack, Reavis Hammond, Sonja Skinner and Zachary Skinner.

Cast members are Sonja Skinner as Violet Newstead, Taylor McQuinn as Doralee Rhodes, Leigh McEntire as Judy Bernly, Thomas Knight as Franklin Hart Jr., Lana Sleeper as Roz Keith, Reavis Hammond as Joe, Caden Spurgin as Dwayne Rhodes, Dan Bower as Josh Newstead, Carra Spigner as Missy Hart, Jaden Gallop as Maria, Bryan Shumate as Dick Bernly, Ryn Swinson as Kathy, Brianna Shields as Margaret, Derrick Miller as Bob Enright, Chip Woods as Russell Tinsworthy, Dereck Miller as detective, Cale Spurgin as cop, Courtney Miles as doctor, Rose Landrum as candy striper, Karman Vanoven as intern, Wendy Brownlee as employee; and other cast includes Hannah Barber, Sadi Blalock, Angela Blanton, Andrea Bower, Karlee Mae Brinson, Mackenzie Ebenhack and Macy Ebenhack, Sharla Gallop, Michele Jones, Carson McKelroy, Kaity Skinner, Peyton Ward and Lindsey Williams.

This musical shares a hilarious story of friendship and revenge, as three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical man they call their boss. You may have seen the movie, but you’ve never seen it presented on stage in only the way DLT’s seasoned thespians share. Grab a friend, or two, and be sure to attend one of the last performances this weekend. Review recommendation: Grandmothers should take their older teen and young adult granddaughters for an experience that will last a lifetime.

Chisholm Trail Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts and Oklahoma Education Television Authority are sponsors of this production.
