Lady Outlaws Add Championship Titles to Golf Program’s Credit
Marlow Lady Outlaws Golf Team learned this week they were named Academic State Champions for 2023 Class 3A Girls Golf. It was one of many highlights for the team as they were heading to compete at the OSSAA State Tournament, at Lake Murray State Golf Course.
This is the program’s sixth Academic State Championship overall and fifth title since 2017.
This year’s team consists of, seniors: Haley McKinley, Katie Ellsworth, Erin Doughty and Whitney Wade; juniors: Lauren Ivory, Maddy Elroy, Caressa Woods, Alize Rodriquez, Gabby Hack, Kirsten Travis and Kenlee Wilson; sophomores: Aubree Harmon; and freshman: Kory Scott, Gracee Ottinger, Kally Loyd and Kiley Anderson.
Before the road trip, the team took a parade route through the halls of Marlow Elementary’s Early Childhood Center, Tuesday morning. The event was meant as a send-off celebration for the team, but the joy on the children’s faces as the Lady Outlaws made their way through the halls was enough to brighten everyone’s day.
Prior to the parade, Coach Mikey Eaves and the golfers were gathered in the office lobby for a few photos. They also received an encouraging pep talk from Eaves’ mother, Peggy, and of course, one more photo opp.
