Payne named 2023 Jim Thorpe Player of the Year

Avrey Payne was named the 2023 Jim Thorpe Oklahoma High School Boys' Basketball Player of the Year. He is a 2023 Marlow High School graduate, and the son of Jason and Dana Payne of Marlow, OK.

The Oklahoma Coaches Association, in conjunction with the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame, has selected Marlow High School Outlaw athlete Avrey Payne as the 2023 Jim Thorpe Oklahoma High School Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year. This is a prestigious honor that recognizes athletes for their successes on the court, in the classroom and for their character.

Payne will be presented the award at the Annual All-Sports and Scholar-Athlete Awards luncheon on June 15, in Oklahoma City.

He is the son of Jason and Dana Payne.
