4-H, FFA Youth Kick Off Summer with Community Involvement
Many hands make light work. That was true early Monday (June 5) morning as a group of Marlow youth with the 4-H Club and FFA chapter arrived at 8 a.m. Redbud Park for a task. Within 30 minutes, the group had finished their mission and the metal railing around the Marlow Brothers Monument had a fresh coat of black paint.
Megan Graf said the idea was to instill the importance of community service upon the youngsters.
“It did not take very long at all,” she said. There were also a couple of adults who pitched in and set an example just by their own actions. The monument was dedicated with a formal unveiling Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998. It is located at the south entrance of the park. Wildhorse Creek which runs through the middle of the park, is directly behind the monument.
