United Way Campaign Closes Just Under Goal; Annual Meeting set for June 22
While we didn’t reach our goal of $275,000, we did raise $245,000, which enabled us to fund 13 of our United Way partner agencies.
Your donations mean so much, your generosity has put food on the table or helped pay a utility bill. Kept a senior citizen active and having fun with card games, crafts, and a cooked meal. Children have been able to attend counseling or an after-school program allowing their parents to work full-time.
Learning does not just happen in school and these programs help to enrich children’s lives through activities and mentorship. Adults can find help with legal or domestic issues and Parkinson’s assistance as well.
And of course, our wonderful volunteers who helped with our annual Day of Caring.
These volunteers just show up not knowing exactly what will be expected of them, oh they have a general idea that they will be painting, or gardening, cleaning, and sorting, but jobs have been known to change at the last minute and these wonderful individuals stay and complete projects great and small anyway.
So, as we close out this campaign, just let us say thank you and you are appreciated.
Our annual meeting is June 22, to be held at the City of Duncan Municipal building. Everyone is welcome. For more information about the annual meeting, or our current Diaper Drive or Book Drive, call us at 580-255-3648, or better yet stop by and say “Hello.” We are open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at 12 S. 8th Street in Duncan or visit our website: What We Do | unitedwayofsc.
Hope to see you soon, and thank you once again for your generosity, we couldn’t do it without you.
