Coaching assignments, staff hirings among FY-end tasks for Board of Education

Several individuals were approved to be hired for the Marlow Public School District 2023-24 school year, at the Board of Education meeting on Monday night.

Hires include: Tara Thompson and Kalie Michel as middle school personal care assistants; Lindsay Jackson as a high school paraprofessional; Mindy Nichols as child nutrition employee; Tara Smith as assistant principal at the middle school; and the following individuals on temporary contracts – middle school: Kay Dickerson as history teacher, Megan Robbins as English teacher, Cindy Dyes, science teacher.

It was also the final meeting for Fiscal Year 2022-23. Superintendent Corey Holland said the meeting was mostly to close out the year so they could begin business on Monday, July 1, for the new FY23-24. Among those agenda items approved:

*Holland as authorized representative, state and federal programs and purchasing agent for Marlow ISD with a Surety Bond of at least $100,000

*Marcia Folmar as state and federal fund custodian, encumbrance clerk, activity fund custodian and deputy minutes clerk with a Surety Bond of at least $1,000.

*Transfer of $2,095.80 from Child Nutrition Activity Fund to CNF for 2022-23 school year.

*Closing/transfer General Fund refund account of $12,895.56

*Closing/transfer $200 in the Petty Cash Fund account

*A bid to contract Hiland Dairy Foods for products in upcoming school year.

*Contract with Oklahoma School Assurance Group to provide worker’s compensation insurance for next school year, and a contract with Ben E. Keith to provide bread for

the Child Nutrition program.

*One Net to provide internet content filtering for the district.

*Math and Science Courses offered by Red River Technology Center for credit in school year

*Student Handbooks for the district (all 3 campuses) Activity Fund Accounts were also reviewed for the new school year which begins August 10.
