Frankie Glenn Herndon (1938-2023) Marlow, OK

DUNCAN, Okla. - Frankie Glenn Herndon, 85, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 in Oklahoma City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services of Marlow.

Frankie was born Thursday, May 12, 1938, in Comanche County, OK, to Buster "Buck" and Opal Olive (Townley) Herndon. Frankie was a 1956 graduate of Central High School, and lived in this area all of his life.

Frankie married Mary Louise (Ritter) on July 17, 1964, in Marlow and they celebrated 57 years together before Mary preceded him in death in January 2022.

Frankie was proud of his service through the Navy and took great pride in being an air traffic controller. Frankie enjoyed playing and coaching softball, and never missed one of the kid’s games. Frankie also enjoyed traveling and would go to the beach in Mexico and Florida every chance he had, and in his later years he enjoyed dancing. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his fiancée, Connie Roebuck of Duncan, OK, son, Steve Herndon and wife Kenna of Dallas, TX, daughter, Mandy Cunningham and Rick Bright of Marlow, OK, grandson, Houston Cunningham, granddaughter, Saffron Herndon, brother, Gene Herndon of Minco, OK, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Louise.
