Patio Garden Club - Atnip Wins Cook-off

Members of the Marlow Patio Garden Club gathered in the home of George and Bettie Cooper for their 6th annual Chili and Soup Cook-off on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m.

Attendees were asked to prepare their favorite soup or chili recipe for the contest. After dining on a variety of chili, soups and desserts, Dina Atnip’s Tortellini Soup was voted as winning first place.

The annual event is held to show appreciation to husbands and family members for all the support they provide during the year.

“Couldn’t do as many projects without the support and skills of George,” Mrs. Cooper said of her husband. “He is always willing to get involved in our activities.”

Those present for the dinner, along with the Coopers, were Randy and Linda Oldham, Randy and Dina Atnip, Ruby Buchanan, Judy Glover, Bernard Conway, Dennis and Joyce Hodge, Mike and Ann Petty, Larry and Kathye Malcom, Anabel Malcom, Richard and Darla Muller, Tommy and Debra Tupin, Atalie Pierce and Hayden Cooper.

Next meeting for the club will be their annual Pot Luck Christmas Dinner on Dec. 15 th at the home of Lynnita Conway.
