Blizzard conditions shut down US-287 in OK, CO

Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 - Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has closed US-287 south from Boise City to the Texas (Oklahoma panhandle region) state line due to weather conditions. Lamar, CO has also closed its portion of US-287. Closure is because of blowing snow and limited visibility. Multiple semi-trucks have also jack-knifed in that area because of the blizzard conditions, as being reported by News 9. Wind advisories have also been issued for most of the state, beginning at noon today. Stephens County area could get 20 to 30 miles per hour winds, and gusts up to 40mph. High wind warnings have been issued for the northwest portion of the state from Clinton to Woodward to Alva.
