Duncan man dead after wreck on county road

A Duncan man, Leo T. Bailey, 72, was pronounced deceased on the scene, following a collision earlier today, around 6:01 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 on N. 2990 Rd., a half-mile south of OK-7, south of Velma in Stephens County.
Bailey was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup and transported by Southern Plains Mortuary to the Medical Examiners office in Oklahoma City.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. Trooper Sheldon Glass #355 of the Stephens County detachment Troop G investigated the scene. The roadway was wet, as noted in his report. Assisted by Trooper Kyle Keithley #752, Stephens County SO, Velma FD, Velma PD and Velma EMS.
