Jackie Roy Brackett, affectionately known as Jack, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at his residence in Marlow, Oklahoma. Born on November 7, 1949, in Bakersfield, California, to Charles and Maxine Brackett

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Marlow Cemetery, with David Cooper officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services. Viewing will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Jack's life was marked by his dedicated service to the community, as apparent through his notable career, where he proudly served as the Chief of Police. An alumnus of Arvin High School, he put the values instilled in him into practice every day. Jack's commitment to his hometown was unwavering, with his active participation in the Masonic Lodge, Marlow Lions Club, and Marlow City Council. These involvements were not just endeavors to Jack they were integral parts of his identity and testimony to his belief in service.

Jack's vibrant spirit and enduring strength were evident to all who knew him. A man of faith and courage, Jack could lighten the hearts of those around him with his humor, leaving a lasting impression on many.

His legacy is cherished and carried on through his loving family: his wife, Jane Brackett of the home; his sons, Jamey Brackett and wife Angela, Randell Brackett and wife Dana, all of Marlow; his daughter, Jackie Cooper and husband David of Norman; and his cherished grandchildren, Izaak Brackett, Ilana Brackett, Landry Cooper and wife Chloe, Melissa Cooper, and Etta Brackett.

Jack will also be remembered by his siblings, Charles Brackett and James Brackett, both of California; his sisters, Georgia Richards of California and Carol Hall of Oklahoma; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his late parents, Charles and Maxine, and his sister Anita Blair.

The life Jack led stands as a bright beacon of community, laughter, and resolve. His story is one not of goodbye, but of a life extraordinarily lived and a journey well completed.
