Marlow and area organizations earn praise from OSDH

Several local organizations, schools, and healthcare providers have earned statewide recognition for their efforts to promote health and wellness as part of the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s (OSDH) Certified Healthy Oklahoma initiative.

The program, a collaborative effort involving the OSDH, The Oklahoma Academy, Oklahoma Turning Point Council, and the State Chamber of Oklahoma, honors workplaces, schools, early childhood programs, and other institutions that implement policies and practices designed to improve the well-being of Oklahomans.

For the 2024 certification year, more than 1,900 applications were submitted across the state. Certification is awarded in three levels — Basic, Merit, and Excellence — based on how effectively an organization promotes healthy behaviors related to physical activity, nutrition, mental health, and tobacco-free environments.

Marlow Makes the List

Among the recognized organizations is Marlow Family Care, which received the Excellence level certification in the Business category. Cameron Universitywas also honored with a Basic level certification in the Campus category.
