Local Spotlight: Skin Deep Body Art- A Community Gem

Located in the heart of Marlow, Skin Deep Body Art has quickly become a beloved community fixture. This local business is driven by the passionate duo of Yancey and his wife, MacKenzie Seal, who serves as the manager and multitasking expert. Originally from Hammond, Louisiana, Yancey began his journey in body art at the young age of 21. After trying his hand at construction, he returned to his true passion, shaping both his career and personal life along the way.
Yancey recalls starting out by assisting friends at a tattoo shop during his teenage years, which ignited his interest in the world of body art. “I’ve been doing this ever since,” he reflects, highlighting the rewarding aspects of his work. Running a tattoo and piercing business has afforded him the invaluable opportunity to spend more time with his family while earning a living doing what he loves.
At Skin Deep, Yancey and his team, including their talented young apprentice, Dannial Crispin, offer a wide range of services, including tattoos, piercings, and other body modifications. They also provide piercing accessories and aftercare products for tattoos and body modifications, ensuring that clients have everything they need for a safe and fulfilling experience.
Creating a welcoming atmosphere is essential for Yancey. The shop encourages families to bring their children, providing a space where they can hang out and enjoy a game of foosball, as long as they are respectful. “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” he and MacKenzie emphasize, reminding everyone of the welcoming, family-friendly vibe they strive to maintain.
Having called Duncan home since 2012, Yancey and MacKenzie are dedicated to community involvement and ensuring safety in all their services. They offer piercings for minors with parental consent, demonstrating their commitment to providing a positive and secure experience for all clients.
In a world where body art can sometimes seem intimidating, Yancey advises, “You should go to a shop for tattoos and piercings. Safety and quality should always come first. Your artist should be well-versed, licensed, offer high-quality jewelry, and follow strict hygiene standards.”
As Skin Deep Body Art continues to grow in popularity, it is evident that Yancey and MacKenzie Seal are not merely running a business; they are cultivating a community space where creativity thrives and connections flourish. Whether you’re considering your first tattoo or a simple piercing, Skin Deep promises more than just a service – it offers an experience rooted in care, creativity, and community.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
