Rush Springs Speech and Drama Team Advances to State Tournament
The Rush Springs High School Speech and Drama Team has earned a trip to the state stage after a strong showing at regional competition, qualifying multiple students for the upcoming OSSAA State Tournament.
Coaches and supporters praised the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season, noting this year’s accomplishments as a point of pride for the school and community.
Several students secured top placements to qualify for state competition. Ayden Seifried led the group with a first-place finish in Monologue, along with a third-place finish in Dramatic Duet and sixth in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking. Haylee Blanton and Brady Smith each earned third-place finishes in their respective events, Dramatic Duet and Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, also securing state berths. Emma Love added a third-place finish in Humorous Interpretation to round out the list of state qualifiers.
Other team members also turned in notable performances. Bailey Hobbs placed fourth in Monologue, while Sierra Witt earned fourth in Poetry. Kylee Heston finished sixth in Poetry and was named second alternate for state. Blanton also placed fifth in Monologue, earning first alternate status. Love contributed additional placements with fifth in Informative Speaking and sixth in Prose, where she was named second alternate.
With multiple competitors advancing and others serving as alternates, Rush Springs will be well represented at the OSSAA State Tournament.
