April 23, 2026
Marlow Public Schools has announced the addition of three new coaches to its athletic programs, naming Brock Harris as head boys basketball coach, Sophie Williams as head softball coach, and Lance Manning as defensive coordinator for the Outlaw football team.
Brock Harris, a 2018 graduate of Marlow High School, will take over the Outlaws basketball program. After earning his degree in education from the University of Central Oklahoma, Harris gained coaching experience at Edmond Memorial High School before returning to Marlow. Over the past four years, he has served in multiple roles within the district, including assistant varsity basketball coach, freshman basketball coach, assistant high school football coach, head junior high football coach, and junior high boys golf coach.
“As a proud alumnus, I am honored to lead a program built on grit, toughness, and tradition,” Harris said. “I’m excited to continue to develop not only strong competitors but also great young men.”
Sophie Williams has been named head coach of the Lady Outlaws softball team. A 2021 graduate of Vernon High School, Williams played collegiately at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, where she earned four All-American honors and was named SAC Pitcher of the Year three times. She also completed her bachelor’s degree during her collegiate career. Williams previously worked with the Lady Outlaws during the 2025 season.
“I am incredibly honored and excited for this opportunity,” Williams said. “I’m thankful the Lord had coaching in my plans all along, and I’m ready to get to work with our athletes and students.”
The district also announced Lance Manning as the new defensive coordinator for the Outlaw football program. Manning brings decades of coaching experience, including previous head coaching stops at Deer Creek, Norman North, and Edmond Santa Fe high schools. A 1988 graduate of Tipton High School, he went on to play college football at Northwestern Oklahoma State University before beginning his coaching career at Putnam City West High School. After spending 11 years in private business, Manning returned to coaching in 2025 at Blanchard High School.
“I’m very excited to become part of the Marlow family,” Manning said. “Marlow has an outstanding culture and reputation, and I’m proud to have the opportunity to be a part of it.”
School officials expressed enthusiasm about the hires, noting each coach brings a strong combination of experience, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete development as Marlow continues to build on its athletic tradition.
