Marlow Public Schools Launches Weekly Alumni Spotlight Series

April 23, 2026

Marlow Public Schools has been shining a light on the accomplishments of its graduates through a recurring social media feature, “Where Are They Now Wednesday,” on the Marlow Public Schools Facebook Page which highlights the journeys and successes of former students from Marlow High School.
Each week, the district shares the story of a Marlow alumnus, offering the community a look at how former students are making an impact both locally and across the country. The series not only celebrates professional achievements but also reflects on the individuals’ time as students and the activities that helped shape their paths.
One recent feature spotlighted 2004 graduate Chris Willard, whose involvement at MHS ranged from academics to the arts. During high school, Willard served as editor of the student newspaper, participated in speech and drama, earned All-State honors in band, and graduated as Salutatorian.
Following graduation, Willard attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, completing his degree in three years before moving to New York City to pursue a career in media. His professional journey included roles with People Magazine and HBO, where he spent more than a decade and rose to Senior Vice President, contributing to major productions and the launch of the Max streaming service.
Willard now leads his own firm, Chris Willard Communications, based in San Francisco, working with clients in entertainment and technology. He remains connected to his Oklahoma roots, returning regularly to visit family and serving on the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Alumni Association Board of Directors.
As part of the spotlight, alumni are also invited to share advice for current students. Willard encouraged students to “travel as much as you can, be kind, humble, and curious, and work hard—but always know and respect your limits.”
School officials say the weekly feature is designed to inspire current students while strengthening the connection between the district and its alumni network.
Community members are encouraged to nominate Marlow graduates for future features through the district’s website: www.marlow.k12.ok.us/communications
