Wesley Mack Balthrop

Wesley Mack Balthrop, of Duncan, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born in Artesia, New Mexico, on October 27, 1960, to McBride and Oleathea M. (Lumbert) Balthrop.
A graduate of Fox High School, Wesley was a devoted Christian of the Pentecostal faith and a lifelong member of the church. He loved the Lord and was known for his steadfast faith and love for the church. His faith was a guiding part of his life and something he held close in both good times and difficult ones.
Wesley was a hardworking businessman who spent much of his life working alongside his brothers. He founded Liberty Bit in 1984 and later branched into buying and selling automobiles through Superior Auto Brokers. He was also involved in the recycling industry with his brothers through Eagle Iron and Metal. He took pride in his work and in building relationships throughout the community.
Wesley enjoyed fishing and gardening, and he especially valued time spent with his family. He was a proud father and a man who cared deeply for those close to him. He also supported causes that were meaningful to his family, including the Stephens County Humane Society.
Preceded in death by his parents, Wesley is survived by his daughter, Leszley Balthrop of Duncan; the mother of his daughter, Holly Balthrop of Sterling; five brothers: Wiley (Renee) Balthrop of Marlow, John (Julie) Balthrop of Duncan, George Balthrop of Duncan, Tommy (Lisa) Balthrop of Duncan, and K.P. (Tammy) Balthrop of Bray; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at 10:30 AM at Glory Bound Church in Marlow, with Brother George Maloy officiating. Interment will follow at Marlow Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Wiley Balthrop, Tommy Balthrop, K.P. Balthrop, George Balthrop, John Balthrop, and Walter Lada III; honorary pallbearer is Joe Frazier.
