Garland Smith Public Library Announces 2026 Summer Reading Program
The Garland Smith Public Library will once again host its annual Summer Reading Program beginning June 2, offering local children an opportunity to explore science, history and reading through this year’s theme, “Unearth a Story.”
The 2026 program will focus on topics including dinosaurs, paleontology, archaeology and geology. Weekly activities are scheduled for Tuesdays at 2 p.m. throughout the summer.
According to library officials, registration for the program will begin Friday, May 1, and continue through Thursday, May 21. Parents or legal guardians must register children in person at the library, and registration will be required for participation in the summer program.
The Summer Reading Program is open to children entering first grade through children entering sixth grade.
Library officials encouraged families to sign up early and said they look forward to welcoming participants back for another summer of learning and activities.
The Garland Smith Public Library is located at 102 W. Main Street in Marlow.
