Marlow students participate in KidWind Challenge
May 07, 2026
Twenty-two Marlow Middle School students participated in the Oklahoma KidWind Challenge at the Enel Offices in OKC on April 1st. Students designed wind turbine blades and configured gearboxes to boost the mechanical advantage from the blades to the generators, maximizing energy output. They also presented their documentation to the judges, participated in a building challenge, and completed a quiz as part of the scoring process.
Marlow swept the KidWind Division and took first in the Open Division. The first-place teams will travel to Madison, WI, for KidWind Worlds on May 17-20, 2026. Students are selling Marlow Discount Cards to continue to raise funds for the trip. Please contact the middle school or Cindy Dyes to purchase a $10 card, cdyes@marlow.k12.ok.us.
