Four Candidates Announced for 2026 Rush Springs Watermelon Queen
Four local young women have been announced as candidates for the 2026 Rush Springs Watermelon Queen competition, one of the featured traditions leading up to the annual Rush Springs Watermelon Festival.
Candidates for this year’s title include Rebecca Anoatubby, Caylie Brewer, Bailie Heston, and Miley Miller.
Community members will have the opportunity to support the candidates beginning May 1, when ticket sales officially begin. Supporters may purchase tickets directly from any of the contestants, with votes being cast during Queen Night scheduled for June 6.
Festival organizers are encouraging the community to come out and support the candidates throughout the competition.
“We have four lovely ladies running for Watermelon Queen this year,” organizers shared in a public announcement. “Let’s show our hometown girls some love.”
The Rush Springs Watermelon Festival, known statewide for its celebration of the area’s watermelon-growing heritage, is traditionally held on the second Saturday in August and draws thousands of visitors each year for food, entertainment, contests, vendors, and community activities.
The annual queen competition serves as one of the festival’s longstanding traditions, with candidates representing the community throughout festival events and activities.
Additional information regarding ticket sales and Queen Night activities is expected to be released by festival organizers in the coming weeks.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
