Structure Fire Slows Demolition Work

by Elizabeth Pitts-Hibbard

Marlow Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at approximately 2:15pm on Monday, April 1. According to Eddie Varela, one of the owners of the building at the corner of Young and Underwood streets, they were in the process of demolishing it and had briefly left the site. "My mom is sick," said Varela, "so we went to take her some soup real quick. We weren't gone longer than 20 minutes, maybe. We came back and this had started."

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, the cause of which is still under investigation at this time.
