Collision Leaves One Dead, One Critical

A wreck east of Marlow on Sandhill Road late Monday night left one dead and one in critical condition.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1995 Isuzu pickup driven by a 17 year old juvenile male of Marlow was westbound on Sandhill road when it struck an eastbound motorized scooter driven by William Joseph Teshaw, 33, of Marlow.

The truck left the roadway and hit a tree. The juvenile was pinned in the car for approximately one hour and 45 minutes before being freed by the Marlow Fire Department and Rush Springs EMS using the Hurst Tool. He was transported by Survival Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition with head, leg, and trunk internal injuries.

Teshaw was pronounced dead at the scene by American Medical Response, having sustained massive head and trunk internal injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Other agencies responding were Stephens County Sheriff’s Department, Marlow Police Department, Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department, and Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
