Mildred Dean Barnes passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, in Marlow at the age of 93.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Mildred was born Thursday, November 22, 1923, in Stephens County, to Charlie and Alice (Littrell) Williams. She had lived in the Stephens County area all of her life. The last 10 years Gregston's Nursing Home was her home away from home. Mildred graduated from Bray-Doyle School and went on to become a nurse and work for Dr. Talley and the Talley-Walker Hospital for more than 20 years. She married William Bud Anderson in Stephens County on August 21, 1941; he preceded her in death in September of 1976. Mildred later married Allen Barnes in April of 1978 in Stephens County and he later preceded her in death in 1994. She enjoyed sewing and buying shoes. Mildred loved to bake and was famous for her small pecan tarts, picante sauce, and homemade pickles. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Marlow.

Survivors include her son, Michael Anderson of Duncan, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Bud Anderson and Allen Barnes; a son, Randy Anderson; two daughters, Charla Jo Myers and Marva Traxton; her parents; four brothers, Buck Williams, Herschal Williams, Marvin Williams, and Corbett Williams; and a sister, Louie May Mercer.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Loucks, Jace Loucks, James Hopson, Scotty McGilvray, and Randy Graham.
