Jenny Marie (Berry) Abshire

Jenny Marie (Berry) Abshire 86, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. December 21, 2017, at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Richard Allen officiating, interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery, and arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Jenny Marie (Berry) Abshire was born in Mountain Home area north of Ringling, to William Taylor Berry and Gertie Lee (Byrd) Berry on November 7, 1931. She attended schools at Mountain Home and Ringling, graduating from Claypool in 1950.

Jenny married Charles L.L. Abshire on July 2, 1950, in Gainesville, Texas. She was a member of the Cox City Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles L.L. Abshire; brothers-in-law, Emmett Pemberton, Ezra Abshire, Cecil Abshire, Francis Abshire and wife, Juanita Abshire, and nephews, Randy Berry and Kyle Berry.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Abshire and wife, Karron of Duncan, and Dennis Abshire of Comanche; five grandchildren, Tonya Bryant and husband, Mike of Meridian; Nichole Lawler of Comanche; Crystal Abshire of Meridian; Chad Abshire of Empire; Christopher Abshire and wife, Missy of Empire; six great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Cooper, Lincoln, and Hagan Abshire and Anna and Travis Monson. She is also survived by two sisters, Jeanette Pemberton and Geneva Brave; three brothers, Bland Berry, Joe Berry, and Roger Berry; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Berry, Clint Berry, Jason Duncan, Tom Gilmore, Charles Gilmore and John Pemberton.
