Lola Whaley

Lola Whaley, left this world to go to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 7, 2018, in Duncan at the age of 94.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Dale Nease officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Lola was born Friday, September 28, 1923, in Bray, to Ray and Edia (Gandy) Himes. She had lived in the Stephens County area all of her life and was a member of the Bray Class of 1941. Lola married the love of her life Willie Whaley on August 16, 1941, in Marlow and had been married 68 wonderful years before his passing on April 3, 2009. She loved to cook and even cooked at Bray schools. She also helped her husband on the farm. Lola was a bookkeeper for Herb Jones grocery store. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and playing games such as dominoes and canasta with her friends. She liked to go to basketball games and as a youngster, she enjoyed playing.
Survivors include two sons, Dickey Whaley, Mickey Whaley and wife, Vicki all of Marlow; four grandchildren, Tim Whaley and wife, Kim; David Whaley; Brett Whaley and wife, Christal; granddaughter, Mindy Nichols and husband, Trevor. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Dyer of Eureka, CA; a niece, Sheri Haggerty and husband, Tim of Colfax, IA; as well as two sisters-in-law, Jane Whaley and Judy Jandro.
She was preceded in death by her husband; granddaughter, Amy Whaley; her parents; a brother, Albert Dyer; two sisters, Gearldine Maltby and Audrey Faye Chapin; and a daughter-in-law, Marie Whaley.
Pallbearers will be Tim Whaley, Brett Whaley, David Whaley, Donnie Whaley, Trevor Nichols, and Jason Whaley.
