Gary Lynn Whaley

Gary Lynn Whaley, departed this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in Duncan at the age of 66.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Toffer Schornick officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Gary was born Thursday, August 16, 1951, in Marlow, to Ben and Imogene (Phipps) Whaley. He lived in the Marlow and Bray area all of his life and attended Bray schools. He worked as a brick mason for over 40 years until retiring. Gary married the love of his life Dorothy Davis on August 5, 1973, in Wichita Falls. They had been married 44 wonderful years. He enjoyed working on cars and lawnmowers. He was the best storyteller and was a great wood craftsman. He was an avid fisherman that enjoyed traveling and old western movies. He was a jack-of-all-trades and there was not anything he couldn't do. He was a family man that loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids dearly. He will be missed greatly.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Whaley, of the home; a son, David Lyon and wife, Gerri of Marlow; two granddaughters, Misty Brewer and husband, Tim, Makayla Keihn and husband, Jesse; five great-grandchildren, Samara Rogers, Trinton Rogers, Emersyn Brewer, Blakeley Keihn, and Rylee Keihn. He is also survived by a brother, Bennie Whaley and wife, June, of Bray; two sisters, Bobbie Daniels of Marlow, Lola Stewart and husband, Larry of Marlow; as well as several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jerry Peddycoart.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Nubby, Charlie Davis, Jason Whaley, Ben Whaley, Kevin Stewart, and Gary Riedel.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Swoap and Glenn Barnes.
