Chester Ray Dennis

Chester Ray Dennis left this world on Friday, May 25, 2018, in Duncan, at the age of 84.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the Marlow Cemetery. Rev. Lynn Parkhurst will be officiating with Military Honors conducted by the Stephens County Honor Guard. All arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Chester was born Sunday, February 18, 1934, in Pauls Valley, to Luther Carrol and Samyra Arvilla (Bohannon) Dennis. He graduated from Bray-Doyle High School and had lived in the Stephens County most of his life. He served our country proud in the United States Army. He retired after more than 50 years of construction work from Jan L. Construction. He married the love of his life, Judith Elaine Morgan, on September 24, 1966, in North Augusta, South Carolina. They had 36 wonderful years together before her passing on August 13, 2003. Chester was a man that enjoyed taking care of others and making people laugh. He was passionate about working in his garden and when he had any free time he liked to fish or tell stories to others. Chester was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include two sons, David Lee Dennis of La Grange, GA; Stacy O'Neal Dennis of Comanche; a daughter, Robyn Nicole Cederstrand and husband, Joel of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren, Carey Lynn Gay, Jodi Ann Dennis, Timothy Joel Cederstand, Joshua Daniel Cederstand, Nathanael David Laine Cederstand, and Morgan Ray Dennis. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mackenzie, Clayton, and Gavin, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe Dennis and Bailey Dennis; and a sister, Mary Stewart.
