Billy Wayne Briscoe

Billy Wayne Briscoe, 81, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, was born on September 22, 1936, in Marlow, Oklahoma. He is the son of John Isom and Ollie Belle (Spence) Briscoe. He passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at his residence in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

Billy graduated from Marlow High School. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp where he served from 1956 to 1958. Then Billy married his sweetheart, Dollie (Baird) Briscoe, on March 26, 1961, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 6, 1997. Billy worked in the oilfield until he retired. After retirement, he continued to live a full life up until his passing. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family, attending church, fishing, hunting, and watching sports, particularly OU football. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018, at the Marlow Cemetery in Marlow. David Woods will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory are one brother, Jack Briscoe of Elk City; one sister, Vesta Lavey of Marlow; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Brandy, and Ricky Wayne; several great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Briscoe; parents, John and Ollie Briscoe; two brothers, John L. and Jimmy; and two sisters, Louise Weyrick and Mary Swanson.
