Donna (Rainey) Bonds

January 09, 2020

Memorial service for Donna (Rainey) Bonds was held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Donna (Rainey) Bonds, age 51, died Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Lawton. She was born Sunday, November 24, 1968 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Randy Joe Rainey and Blanche (Bowen) Rainey. She graduated from Grace Academy in Alabaster, Alabama in 1987. Donna has one son, Bryan Lee Dycus. Donna worked many jobs throughout her life but seemed to find her “place” when she joined Family Dollar Stores, where she worked for over ten years, working her way up everywhere she went. Donna transferred from Tennessee to Marlow, Oklahoma as a cashier and worked her way up to assistant manager, then to store manager in Marlow, helped set up and open a new store in Velma, returned to Marlow, and just recently had moved to the Lee Boulevard store. She was an amazing trouble-shooter for the company and helped out at virtually every store in her district! She loved her work, her co-workers, and the people under her and cared about helping people develop their skills so they could also advance.

Donna was (to say the least) an avid Alabama / Roll Tide fan, and she took the ribbing in her Oklahoma environment with a hearty smile, and just kept on wearing her Roll Tide shirts, hoodies and jacket! She loved the Lord, her family, her friends and was a great cook! She was kind and generous to a fault and will be sorely missed by many!

She is survived by her son, Bryan Dycus, Ocean Springs, Mississippi; her mother, Blanche Brittain (Zane) of Marlow, Oklahoma; five brothers, Jimmy Hughes (Lou) of Moss Point, Mississippi, Daryl Hughes and Charlie Waters, both of Lawton, Oklahoma, Randy Joe Rainey, Jr. of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Jonathan Rainey (Ashley) Ocean Springs; one sister, Jamie Ladd of Ocean Springs; two step daughters, Stephanie Henson and Lauren Bonds of Tennessee; one step son Garret French, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Mia Moreland, Brody Moreland, Brinkley Hinson, Carter Bonds and Kyland Bonds, all of Tennessee; one aunt, Myrtle Fayard (Cecil); two uncles, J.W. “Billy” Bowen, Jr. (Cynthia), Dover, Oklahoma and Thurman Rainey (Sue) of Comanche, Texas; and a host of cousins, friends and all her Family Dollar Family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Helen Bowen and Archie and Shirley Rainey, her father, Randy Joe Rainey, Sr., and her aunt, Judy Rainey.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 1306 SW E Avenue, Lawton, Oklahoma 73501 to help them share Jesus as they minister to people’s physical needs.
