MPS Considering School Year Options

by Faith Leatherman

The Marlow School Board met June 1st to discuss various topics on their agenda. They approved several items in preparation for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Among the topics discussed was how the upcoming school year may look for students returning in the fall. Currently, Marlow Public Schools have three possible ways to handle the upcoming school year and the possibility of another COVID-19 outbreak; those options include resuming classes as normal, having some students physically on campus and some online, or going completely online. Marlow Schools have also ordered Chrome Books for each teacher in the event that the schools are required to go to online classes as well as thermometers for each teacher to use in their classrooms and foggers for each campus and sporting facility to help sanitize the classrooms and equipment. As of the meeting Monday night, there has not been a definite decision as to how the school year or fall sports will be handled and information will be released as updates are made.
