Bringing the Fun Back
In April all OHCE (Oklahoma Home and Community Education) groups met for a “Sister Club” gathering at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. The event was sponsored by Linda Heilman, County President; Gina Flesher, West Region, South District Representative; presidents of all four county groups and a host of others. The theme was “vintage roses.” The
tables were beautifully adorned with china, silk roses and floral arrangements with a lovely lunch provided by various county members. This is the first all-county “Sister Club” gathering since COVID.
It was a great time of food and fellowship with members enjoying piano music played by Weldon Cooksey.
Gina Flesher gave a colorful presentation as “Fancy Nancy” while she described proper place settings and table etiquette. In addition, Penny Gardner, Executive Director of Christians Concerned provided a vocal tribute to Patsy Cline. After lunch and entertainment, members participated in a variety of craft projects to include creating mosquito
repellant candles, decorating old bottles and as a community service, cards were written to be taken to nursing home residents to cheer and encourage them.
